| The market or systems is dominated by
low cost providers such as Dell, HP/Compaq. Scan's market position is not
to provide the cheapest base value PC for a generic use. On this level it
would be impossible to compete on price with the above mentioned companies
due to their economies of scale. Low cost, mass produced means less attention
to detail. It's this detail thats makes the difference. |

| There is a niche sector in the PC market
where the user demands the best hardware to deliver on performance as opposed
to a mass produced PC where the aim is to deliver on price. To deliver on
performance and reliability is the key whilst allowing the customer a choice,
but this is not to say that value is not also the key, to overprice for
performance will be folly and the market will not allow this as customers
will buy from a cheaper source. The market now recognises the use of PC's
for specific applications as opposed to focusing on just the hardware. |

in the market. We don't build the cheapest PC for general use, however we
do specialise in performance PC's for specific uses allowing the customer
flexibility on the choice and configuration of the hardware. |
